Chefs to watch 2008

Each year, Louisiana Cookin' publishes a feature announcing five Louisiana Chefs to Watch in our August issue. The honorees are carefully selected through nominations by restaurant industry leaders and follow-up "secret shoppers" dinners. These chefs then cook a gourmet, five-course benefit dinner, paired with wines, donating their time and their cuisine.

Acadiana Culinary Classic

American Culinary Federation's Acadiana Chapter hosted the Acadiana Culinary Classic on Monday, April 20, 2009 in Lafayette, LA at the Cajundome Convention Center. Proceeds from this event benefit Stuller Place, a Lafayette based non-profit organization that houses three agencies that provide Lafayette and surrounding parishes.

Country Roads Magazine

It’s not every renovated country store restaurant in a small Southern town that’s serving things like Raspberry Duckling or Shrimp, Gorgonzola and Tasso Wellington. But, given its lovely surroundings and easy proximity to Lafayette, the restaurant named for Louisiana’s state dog has not just survived, but thrived, as one of Acadiana’s best-known “destination restaurants."
